'This is the best of me... this, if anything of mine, is worth your memory.' Thus did Elgar describe his greatest oratorio. In the 90th year since the composer's death we perform this astonishing tale of a soul's journey into the afterlife. The score is passionate and moving, replete with soaring melodies and dramatic choruses, and populated by demons, priests and a guardian angel.
