Come & Sing 2019
Come & Sing Scenes from Elijah
Saturday 23rd February 2019 9:45AM
Nottingham Harmonic Choir
Conductor Richard Laing
Bass-baritone James Oldfield
Piano Simon Hogan
There can be no more dramatic oratorio than Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Fire descending from the sky, false gods, earthquakes, drought, torrential rain, fiery horses and fiery chariots, prophets ascending heavenward in whirlwinds, it’s all there!
The acclaimed baritone James Oldfield as the eponymous prophet will be singing some of the most poignant arias of the oratorio, and we will be singing the finest choruses from this monumental work.
Don’t miss it!

Review title: February 2019
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed participating in the Come & Sing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially the choir volunteers who put in a lot of effort (especially the cakes!) to make the day an enjoyable one. I felt I learned a lot from the conductor and was amazed at the progress we made in just a few hours.
